Moron of the day!

May 24th, 2004 by mjg

I don’t normally do this, mainly because my moron of the day (every day) would be to the liberal party. And they, of course, get a moron of the day award today as well. However, this person gets an extra special moron of the day award.

The moron of the day award goes out to you Mr. E.L. Doctorow. Mr E.L. Doctorow is some loser write (he may have been good, but not in my book (anymore). At a commencement (that he decided to politicize) speech for Hofstra University he, basically, called Bush a liar. “They are not good stories because they are not true.” (NEWSDAY.COM) “One story he told was that the country of Iraq had nuclear and biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction and was intending shortly to use them on us,” he said “That was an exciting story all right; it was designed to send shivers up our spines. But it was not true.” (NEWSDAY.COM) “Another story was that the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, was in league with the terrorists of al-Qaida,” he said. “And that turned out to be not true. But anyway we went off to war on the basis of these stories.” (NEWSDAY.COM) Of course he was boo’d off of the stage and had to beg (Note this is a republican point of view) to talk again. Some people deciding to listen, while others continued to boo.

Now I don’t really care that he has these point of views, even though they are poor and stupid by default. I do care about the fact that he had to go and piss off a whole bunch of students and families to make a political speech. Now the parents have, most likely, paid an arm and a leg for their child to attend this University. Now their child is graduating and they have to go and listen to a speech that makes them so upset that the majority of them start to boo.

For that Mr. E.L. Doctorow, you get the MORON of the day award! However, Im sure its not your fault, its someone elses right? Perhaps the people who made the microphone that you were using? Or maybe its the speakers that were projecting your voice? But of course, it couldnt be your fault.
