With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Want to know what happend to the weapons of mass destruction? A good place to start looking is Ahmed Chalabi.

I personally believe that Iraq had weapons that, under UN resolutions, were forbidden. However, the actions of this power hungry clown has not only harmed the integrity of the U.S., but also jeapordized American troops on the ground.

Chalabi is head of the Iraqi National Council, a sort of legislative body in exile during the Saddam era. He has promoted members of congress and CIA to sponsor coup attempts in the baathist regime. Chalabi seemed like a concerned Iraqi that was trying to save his homeland from the brutality of the sadistic reign of Saddam. Recent developments have proven otherwise.

The leader of the INC apparently passed faulty intelligence, such as the mobile labs, that Colin Powell reiterated before the UN Security council in May of 2003. Intelligence sources have determined that Chalabi’s “sources” and intelligence informaiton was largely bogus. Con games are not new to Chalbi, who is currently wanted in Jordan for bank fraud.

Ahmed Chalabi has also made the transition from charlatan from traitor. Intelligence sources now report that Chalabi passed sensitive information to Iranian intelligence – information that compromised the security of U.S. troops. Iran has, at the very least, been indirectly involved in the current fedayeen violence in Iraq.

Why would this long precieved U.S. ally against Saddam’s Iraq commit treason against his biggest sponsor? Chalabi has always wanted a substantially high leadership posiiton in liberated Iraq. His popularity among the Iraqi population was questionable. Chalabi was never able to establish any substantial support within Iraq. WIthout this, the U.S. was not willing to appoint Chalabi in an executive position. It appears that Chalabi’s intentions were to create a destabilizing situation in Iraq and ,therefore, force the U.S. to leave the country. He would then be in a far better posistion to gain power.

This week, the pentagon cancelled its monthly payments to Chalabi’s organization. It is clear that individuals like these, who are only interested in their own aspirations, will continue to hinder the transition process in Free Iraq.
